If you’re into your history, then check out the historical reenactors in School Lane Meadow

The Militias of Anglia and the Longthorpe Legion living history groups are joining us again this year. We love the flamboyance they bring to Daffodil Weekend.

In 1647, Cromwell’s New Model Army camped here at Thriplow Heath. They would have been set up very like the Militia’s of Anglia.

And there is Roman settlement evidence throughout the Parish, with finds including a quern stone, pottery and tiles, possibly linked to the 40 early Roman pottery kilns found in the wider area, showing a thriving pottery industry during the period.

A big thanks you to Bexwell Farm Logs for supplying the kiln dried wood to fire our reenactors over the weekend.
