Need to get the family off their phones for a few hours?

We have so much fun lined up for 21 & 22 March you can keep the whole family happy all day!

Let the young ones burn off some energy walking around our beautiful village and head to Children’s Thriplow in School Lane for some good old fashioned welly wanging, or let them have a go on the kids bungee frame. Then take them to gorgeous the Little Steam fayre in School Lane Meadow.

For slightly older kids, the Living history Groups (Militias of Anglia and The Longthorpe Legion) are great fun, with their encampment set ups, weapons and amaaaaaazing outfits. Plus there’s the live music on the main stage and lots of stalls to browse.

For the grown ups, there’s ALL THE ABOVE plus The Mean Gran beer tent in the Taste of Thriplow, vintage vehicles and little engines, and the working blacksmith in the Smithy.

Plus much much more…

Join us over the weekend of 21 & 22 March to raise funds for these very worthwhile local charities

This year, we’re raising funds for three main local charities, each of which has been nominated by a parish resident in thanks for their help over the last year.

Our event is run entirely by a merry troupe of 400 kind-hearted volunteers, all helping to raise funds for local charity. We hope you will join us.

And it’s a wrap!

Thank you to everyone who came, participated, donated and volunteered in our lovely Daffodil Weekend. I will post later today how much we raised for local charities.

We hope you all enjoyed yourselves despite the weather 🙄 on Sunday. The daffodils always shine through 😃.

Not only do we support small and often local traders, it has also enabled us to forge worthwhile new connections.

The Cambridge Russian Speaking Society came as VIPs with 30 Ukrainian refugees to meet the Convoy4Ukraine charity.

And we’ve hooked up with the students of West Suffolk College on the Media, Film and Journalism course to give them the opportunity to film the music and event. This enables us to offer the bands (who play for free) some better quality promotional videos.

Plus the Romans revisited Thriplow for the first time since AD 43. Also the first time they’d bumped into our regulars. the Militias of Anglia, who were in Thriplow 1647.

There are so many positive connections that make the mega effort worthwhile!

Once the volunteer committee have mopped up after the event, we’re going to take a rest until planning starts again in September.

Special mentions to Kelly for picking up Children’s Thriplow again after managing to escape for a couple of years. And to Digby for taking on Country Thriplow after a couple of years without a leader.

The weekend couldn’t happen without the UNSUNG HEROES picking litter and clearing up, and the teams parking cars and coaches who cope to the very best of their ability with 40 coaches a day and peak entry times.

In the meantime, do send us your POSITIVE comments - we need to keep every volunteer on board and not put anyone off!! It requires lots of time, dedication, motivation, and lots of juggling to get the show on the road. It’s been noted that we need more fresh coffee stations. That’s an easy tick for next year.

It’s all calm again in Thriplow this morning and the Parish and neighbouring villages are recovering. It wakes us up from our winter slumber every year, enables the locals to meet up again and welcome new people.

A heartfelt thank you.

We’ve sold out for Sunday too.

And we’ve sold out for today as well. ❤️❤️❤️😎

Thank you to everyone for buying tickets, we hope you have a great time.

For anyone who has missed out, please beware of scammers as some people lost money last year. Don’t give them your hard earned cash.

Tickets go on sale in January, so get yours nice and early for 2026.
