Thank you to everyone who took part in Daffodil Weekend 2026, together we raised £80,000!

And that sum excludes any of the money raised by other charities here this weekend.

Thank you thank you thank you…

PS the volunteeer committee have hung up their Hi Viz but are still mopping up after the event for lost property, clearing the village, returning equipment etc. It’s time we refocused on our day jobs!

However, Lego Jez is floored, after spending the whole afternoon in a dark room individually checking 200 IP connections to the WiFi under high pressure yesterday after it went down. We have plans to resolve this for next year, so thanks to everyone for their patience. We need him to volunteer again next year so he needs much earned praise 👏👏👏👏

Once I have finished posting the photos from the Weekend, I am hanging up my marketing hat until September, when it starts all over again!

Till then, goodbye and one final thank you to everyone involved.

Kelly has called on her superhero friends to help run Children’s Thriplow this year.

Between them they should manage to keep the kids (and not so kids) in line!

Just 2 days until Daffodil Weekend and Saturday has nearly sold out so buy your tickets quickly.

Can you help... we think the Thriplow Smithy is possibly the only forge in Cambridgeshire with hand working bellows. Do you know of any others?

There will be two Farriers, Jon Currell and Aaron Devaney, working the forge in the Smithy from 10.00am to 5.00pm on Saturday making horseshoes and other items.

On Sunday the Blacksmith Peter Allen will have a forging team of four with him making small interesting items from 10.00am to 5.00pm.

4 days to go until Daffodil Weekend and Caroline is working through her H&S checks.

Meanwhile, Al is ‘doing a stock take’ for The Mean Gran beer tent and because Caroline finds doing H&S is a little on the dull side at times, she’s now decided to leave it for later in the week, and join them.

We have a gorgeous selection of artisan, craft and food stalls for you to browse this weekend

5 days to go until Daffodil Weekend, 21 & 22 March 2026!

5 days to go and Digby is feeling rightly pleased with himself because he has Country Thriplow totally prepared and under control…unlike most of the rest of the Committee who are flapping around like headless chickens this week!

Need to get the family off their phones for a few hours?

We have so much fun lined up for 21 & 22 March you can keep the whole family happy all day!

Let the young ones burn off some energy walking around our beautiful village and head to Children’s Thriplow in School Lane for some good old fashioned welly wanging, or let them have a go on the kids bungee frame. Then take them to gorgeous the Little Steam fayre in School Lane Meadow.

For slightly older kids, the Living history Groups (Militias of Anglia and The Longthorpe Legion) are great fun, with their encampment set ups, weapons and amaaaaaazing outfits. Plus there’s the live music on the main stage and lots of stalls to browse.

For the grown ups, there’s ALL THE ABOVE plus The Mean Gran beer tent in the Taste of Thriplow, vintage vehicles and little engines, and the working blacksmith in the Smithy.

Plus much much more…

Join us over the weekend of 21 & 22 March to raise funds for these very worthwhile local charities

Royal Papworth Hospital Charity

Our event is run entirely by a merry troupe of 400 kind-hearted volunteers, all helping to raise funds for local charity. We hope you will join us.
