Happy charities

June 22, 2017 Kerstin Rivett

Yesterday evening at the Daffodil Weekend open meeting, donations and grants were handed out to our benefiting local charities and community organisations.

EACH Milton, our nominated charity for 2017, received a cheque for £9,400 towards expanding their 'Help at home' volunteering initiative which aims to link a caring individual to a family to provide practical support such as cooking, driving, cleaning and gardening. The type of help needed will vary. For some people it might be maintaining the garden, for others help with a one-off job that would just never get done otherwise. The service is needed because caring for a child with complex care needs or a serious illness can be physically and emotionally draining, taking a huge amount of time – which is more precious than anything to families. www.each.org.uk

Other local charities and community projects to benefit from grants were:
HeART - Heathfield
St George’s Church, Thriplow
Thriplow Cricket Club
Thriplow Society
Ladybird Playgroup
Thriplow Village Hall Management Committee
Fowlmere & Thriplow Gardening Club

All is quiet again in Thriplow Land..

April 17, 2017 Kerstin Rivett

The visitors have gone home happy, the stallholders have packed up any remaining wares, the volunteers are able to put their feet up with a well-earned cup of tea and our EACH Charity VIPs have their goody bags.

Thank you all for coming to see us!
